_This is Destiny Mission Control.
We have launched a series of geological & meteorological probes of Planet Blue and expect to have analyzed the telemetry within the next 2-3 hours. In addition, we already have spectral analysis of the atmosphere and are now able to confirm that it is of a composition suitable for normal human activity.
As the technology does not identify microbial & viral threats, we will establish an underground community for security & safety purposes.
If those concerns prove to be groundless, surface colonization of the planet will begin. Thereafter, given the atmospheric composition, we expect the planet will be able to support human life comfortably after a period of adaptation lasting 5 to seven days.
At our current rate of approach, Destiny will achieve orbit around Planet Blue in approximately 23 hours. Once we achieve that objective, all civilian personnel are required to be in their home pods and to have their identification papers ready for a pre-Planetfall census.
Census will began as soon as we have attained stable orbit. Pod bosses should begin organizing their census teams immediately.
Be advised once you have registered on the census, you will not be allowed to leave your home pods.
We expect to be in orbit for no less than 15 hours & no more than 20. At the end of that period, we will begin the descent to the surface of the Planet and the robotic units will begin excavations immediately thereafter.
Mission Control will issue updates as status changes warrant, otherwise expect announcements every eight hours that our intentions remain unchanged.
